A federal judge ordered the release of children held in U.S. detention camps, citing recent outbreaks of COVID-19 at two of the three facilities. Take action and help keep families together, free, and safe.

A federal judge recently demanded ICE release children from their family jails immediately, writing that they are “on fire.” While the federal judge originally ordered the release of children from these jails by July 17, they only have jurisdiction over the children in these jails — not their parents or caretakers. The deadline to reunite families has been extended to July 27th. Not only can all of us speak out to demand the release of these children and their families, there are several organizations providing critical legal services to try to free the families for us to support. These legal service providers on the frontlines are vital because ICE may use this court order to attempt to tear children away from their parents again, as they did only a few weeks ago.

As of June 8, there were 124 children living with their parents in the three U.S. family detention facilities (in Texas and Pennsylvania). Keep families together by demanding urgent action.

Join groups on the ground that are fighting to make sure the judge’s order is followed and that families can remain safe and together. Take action today and help #FreeTheFamilies.

Tell ICE: #FreeTheFamilies

On June 26, a federal judge ordered all children in ICE family jails to be released by July 17 due to the spread of the coronavirus and the horrific conditions these kids have been subjected to. The deadline to reunite families has been extended by the judge to July 27th. ICE has the discretion to release children and families together. They should do so immediately, without delay. This order cannot be an excuse for more family separation. Sign the petition to demand that ICE comply with the judge's order and release all families immediately.
